Duties and Responsibilities

· Assisting in the day-to-day running of the Department.

· Ensuring the safety and security of office properties and documents.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Head of HRM in ensuring that all activities relating to training and development are carried out successfully. The incumbent shall perform the following duties among others:

· Strengthen the collection, analysis and use of data for decision making by supporting the selection, collection and processing of relevant information;

· Support the deployment of new tools, methods and processes to improve the generation of information products (e.g. data visualizations, dashboards,) and promote their adoption and use;

· Advise management on new data science techniques (e.g. artificial intelligence and machine learning) and assist with the implementation of these new techniques to improve the use of data at all levels of the Council;

· Provide technical assistance to effectively use data collected for decision making;

· Conduct in-depth analyses of datasets to identify trends and anomalies; summarize and present findings and recommendations using a variety of data visualization products;

· Review technical deliverables from other team members and provide timely feedback and recommendations for their improvement and dissemination.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

· Possess Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Degree (at least Second Class Lower Division)

· Excellent in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheets

· Keeping abreast of important reports/stories in the media particularly those related to the Council.

· Drafting and placement of advertisements/advertorials in the media

· Organising press briefings, courtesy visits and other events of the Council

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants must:

· Possess Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations or a related field of Study from a recognised University (at least Second Class Lower Division).

· Possession of higher degree and membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations will be an added advantage.

· Have a minimum of three (3) years post NYSC relevant work experience in the Public Affairs Department of a reputable organisation, or in the editorial Department of a reputable media outfit.

· Applicants who have not majored in Mass Communication (or any of the related field of study), who possess graduate diploma in Mass Communication are also eligible.
