About The Role

The position is embedded in Barry Callebaut’s Ghana local sustainability team, with direct reporting to the Sustainability Sector Managers in the different sectors of operations as defined by the company in Ghana. The recruits will be key in supporting the existing team in translating project goals and objectives into deliverables in the communities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all relevant database of district farmer group details (Training, Input, planting material etc.)
  • Give technical advice on good agricultural practices
  • Lead in all community development interventions (Child labor, VSLA, CAPs)
  • Lead prospering farmer interventions (register farmers for Inputs packages )
  • Submit weekly report to sector manger
  • Ensure 100% registrations of all farmers delivering cocoa to the district
  • Coordinate Client visits
  • Establish nurseries to provide planting material for farmers

 

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum qualification of Diploma in Agriculture, Social Works, Community Development. A Degree or Master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge in Good Agronomic Practices and experience in cocoa supply chain
  • Proficiency in MS Office application – Word, PowerPoint and Excel to a competent standard
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with professionals and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to speak a local language
  • Ability to ride a motorbike and travel 60% in rural cocoa communities
  • Willing to live upcountry and enjoy field work

Line Manager   : Supply Chain Director Côte D’Ivoire

Location            : Côte d’Ivoire

 

Holding this position will allow you to have a 360°view and control over Supply Chain activities as well as a good experience in a multinational business environment. The job holder will implement the Supply Chain strategy for the site including the transformation from a logistic to a supply chain organization (Cocoa Products), full integration in the local, the region and in the Global Cocoa network, optimization of the Supply Chain  & Logistics costs, giving visibility on daily, weekly, monthly activities to different stakeholders and supporting the business development  for the plant.

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Responsible for the entire flow of the goods (intercompany and direct customers): contracts management, booking monitoring, shipments, invoicing, export documentation
  • Ensure a high commitment on the shipping plan by aligning all the stakeholders (plant, Quality Insurance…)
  • Responsible for optimization and reduction of Imports Transit Time, import handling Costs and customs clearance costs and demurrages
  • Responsible for Customs clearing of imported containers (spare parts, materials, chemicals, packaging) from port and airport on time to avoid demurrage costs, linked to Temporary Admission
  • Assess shipping lines and freight forwarders performance (ETD vs initial ETA measurement, cost) and give feedback to BC Traffic for improvements, alternative solutions
  • Part of the tender process for Freight Forwarders and Logistics Providers in coordination with OSCO Regional Team and BC Head Office
  • Ensure consistency between ERP figures and physical stocks
  • Organize stock counts (end of month, end of year..) and ensure timely stock reconciliation
  • Participate to the enhancement of the  ERP capabilities by being part of the design
  • Find solutions with the local teams to increase the OTIF (On Time In Full)
  • Train stakeholders to  understand the Supply Chain role
  • Manages the teams located in the different sites and in relation/coordination with the Supply Chain Manager, being in charge of external relations with Customs, Conseil du Cafe Cacao, Port authorities, Administrations, Ministries & Suppliers for all topics relating to Supply Chain & Production

Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management / International Trade/ Transport & Logistics or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of experience in driving Lean & Continuous Improvement  processes and dealing with Customs Authority in Cote d’Ivoire preferable in the Agricultural Products Exports
  • Good knowledge of Incoterms, Exports, import and custom clearance processes

About the Role

 

We are currently looking for our next Plant Manager for our manufacturing operations at our site in San Pedro, Ivory Coast.  This is a critical role responsible for our end to end manufacturing processes ensuring the planning and delivery of our high quality cocoa products. The role is positioned within our global Cocoa OSCO (Operations & Supply Chain) Organisation and is responsible for supporting the delivery of our Global OSCO strategy in Africa,  planning, organizing and controling all cocoa operations within San Pedro, in order to meet short and long term operational objectives, while complying with customer requirements, rules, laws, and regulations.  The role holder will act as a key role model to uphold the BC values and vision in the site collaborating with all departments to succeed in both short and long-term strategies for the region.

The Production Manager is responsible for managing the production team to achieve production plans; ensuring KPIs are monitored and delivered; support and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
