2022 BECE Results How to Check and Do Placement this 2023
The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform its numerous publics that it has released provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School Candidates and Private Candidates
The Council will dispatch the results to the schools through the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors of Education. Meanwhile, the Council has hosted the results online and candidates who desire, may access their results online at the Council’s website www.waecgh.org. Private Candidates can also use the online portal to check their results.
STATISTICS
A total of 552,288 candidates made up of 276,999 males and 275,289 females entered for the examination. Among the registered candidates, 65 had visual impairment and 427 were identified with hearing impairment. In addition, 54 candidates had special assessment needs due to other conditions. Out of the total number of candidates who registered, 4, 309 candidates were absent.
EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES
Following the conduct of investigations into cases of examination malpractice detected during the conduct of the examination, the 33rd Meeting of the Final Awards and Examiners’ Appointment Committee for the BECE held on 24th January, 2023, approved: as follows
- Cancellation of the Subject Results of 416 candidates and 2 Private Candidates
- Cancellation of the Entire Results of 73 School candidates and 2 private candidates for the offence of either sending mobile phones
- Withholding of the Subject Results of 38 can
CAUTION
The Council is cautioning all stakeholders to be wary of fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee. Candidates are to note that WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated.
CONCLUSION
The Council wishes to express its sincerest gratitude to stakeholders especially the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, the Security Agencies, Supervisors, Invigilators, Examiners and all who in various ways supported it in the successful conduct of the examination and release of results.
How to Check Your BECE Results Online
The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform the general public that it is now possible for individuals to purchase Results Checker PINs and check BECE results via SMS using Mobile Money Platforms.
The process is EASY and SIMPLE.
Dial *944# and follow the instructions.
All that one needs to do is to Dial *944# and follow the instructions. Subscribers will then receive their results checker PIN/Text message of their BECE results on their phones.
It is expected that the checking of results via SMS will be extended to other examinations conducted by the Council in due course.
The cost of each Results Checker PIN is GHS 10 while the cost of an SMS text of results is GHS6.

When the West African Examination council releases the results, the next thing to do is to obviously Check to know your Performance.
You’ll have to now use the computerized system to check the school you have gotten and register appropriately.
If none of your choice is given, you don’t have to worry, you will be given the chance to do self placement.
