President Nana Addo’s speech about the economy Sunday October 2022

President Akufo Addo is expected to speak on the economy today Sunday, October 30th, 2022 at 8:00pm

The Ghanaian Economy is facing a lot of challenges with some groups calling for the resignation of the president and the finance Minister.

The president is hopeful things will turn around just that majority are not seeing that.

His address today can make a difference as citizens are looking forward for better  tomorrow.

Prices of goods and services are extremely high and a lot of people are suffering.

Some of the Speech by the President

The country is currently negotiating a $3 billion bailout with the IMF which it hopes will grant  it access to the international capital markets.

Money doesn’t like noise. Let’s stop talking down on our cedis.

There will be no haircuts on investments .

”To those who make it a habit to publishing falsehoods, which results in panic in the system, I say to them that the relevant  state agencies will act against such people”

I also want to assure all Ghanaians that no individual or institutional investor, including pension fund, in Government treasury bills or instruments will lose their money, as a result of our ongoing IMF negotiations. There will be no ”haircuts” so I urge all of you to ignore the false rumours, just as, in the banking sector clean-up, Government ensured that the 4.6 million depositors affected by the exercise did not lose their deposits.
