Course Description

THE EDUCATION OF PERSONS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (INCLUSIVE EDUCATION) training course is a mandatory Teacher Continuous Professional Development(TCPD) training program designed for teachers and other education workers towards improving service delivery to children with special educational needs in Ghana.

The course exposes participants to:

The concept of Inclusive Education(Facts and Myths about educating learners with disabilities in Ghana, ethical and legal issues that underpin inclusive education implementation in Ghana, etc.)
Inclusive Education Techniques: Universal design for Learning and Response to interventions
Foundations of Learning Disabilities which shall include causes, identification and management of dominant learning disabilities in inclusive classroom.
The training course is to be implemented at each of the 216 districts across Ghana.

Resource Persons/Facilitators are drawn from Special Education Professors and PhD holders as well as other professionals with in depth knowledge and expertise in handling the course content.

The program is managed by Ghana National Network of Special Educations (GHANNSE) through a dedicated, experienced and result-oriented Program Management Team lead by the Executive Director.

Participants are assessed after the training program and their scores are accredited to their portal for certification and CPD points.

An NTC approved participation fees is charged to each participant.
