FIFA Sanctions Nigeria Details
As expected, World Soccer Governing Body, FIFA, has sanctioned Nigeria footbal federation following the pitch invasion by angry fans at the Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola Stadium, Abuja, by indefinitely suspending the usage of the Stadium from hosting international matches.
Nigeria has also been ordered to play one match behind closed doors and also pay a fine of 150,000 Swiss franc ($154,000) by FIFA for failure to implement existing safety rules and throwing of objects in their World Cup Qualifiers against Ghana.
