What is GLOI ?
The Ghana Education Service (GES), on Tuesday,17th November, 2020 launched the Ghanaian Languages of Instruction (GLOI) programme to augment the Ghana Learning Programme. It is to improve the learning outcomes of pupils while at home in this COVID-19
It is aimed at providing lessons to pupils to support them to continue their studies using radio, while they remain at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
USAID Partnership for Education:Â Learning improves early grade reading in Ghana through materials in 11 Ghanaian languages, strengthened teacher training and national radio reading programming.
Through this programme teachers were trained to NaCCA Validated materials in English and the Official Ghanaian languages of Instruction to teach people to read and write. In addition to in- class-room support pre-recorded interactive radio reading lessons to be aired in classroom and radio stations to aide students learning
The Ghana Education Service (GES) in collaboration with the National Teaching Council (NTC) is in the process of awarding Credit Points to teachers who were participants of the various Learning Ghanaian Language of Instruction (GLOI)Â and T2E Plus English Materials Training Programs for their Continuous Professional Development.
