Chief Lecturer

Qualifications

PhD/Fellowship

Candidate must possess a Ph.D. in relevant field (s) from a recognized institution with at least 12 years of teaching, basic and applied research, and industrial work experience.

 

Senior Lecturer

Qualifications

MBA/MSc/MA , PhD/Fellowship

  • Candidate must possess a Ph.D. in related field with at least 6 years cognate experience or a Master’s degree with at least 8 years teaching and research experience in an institution of higher learning.

Lecturer III

Qualifications

MBA/MSc/MA

Candidate must possess at least Master’s Degree in relevant field from recognized institution with NYSC Certificate.

 

Lecturer II

Qualifications

MBA/MSc/MA

Candidate must possess at least a Master’s Degree in relevant field with NYSC Certificate plus at least three (3) years teaching and evidence of publications in learned journals.
Preferably, the candidate must possess a Ph.D. in relevant field from a recognized institution.

Lecturer I

Qualifications

PhD/Fellowship

Candidate must possess a Ph.D in the relevant field(s) from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years of teaching and research experience in an institution of higher learning.

 

COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

Professor

A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a doctorate degree in the respective field with not less than ten (10) years of teaching and research experience since becoming Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.

A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise and must have been an Associate Professor for a minimum of three years.

Candidates who have been Senior Lecturer for a minimum of six years may be considered for appointment.

(i) Associate Professor

A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree in respective specialty and relevant doctorate degree or Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in area of specialty is mandatory for clinical disciplines with not less than eight (8) years of teaching and research experience since becoming Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.

A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.

Candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been a Senior Lecturer for a minimum of three years. Candidate must be registered with appropriate professional regulatory body

(ii) Senior Lecturer

A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree in respective specialty and relevant doctorate degree or Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in area of specialty is mandatory for clinical disciplines with not less than five (5) years of teaching and research experience since becoming Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.

Candidate must possess evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.

Candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been a Lecturer I for a minimum of three years. Candidate must be registered with appropriate professional regulatory body

(iii) Lecturer I

A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree in the respective specialty and relevant doctorate degree or Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in area of specialty is mandatory for clinical disciplines in the respective field from a recognized University with at least four (4) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.

Candidate must also have the ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level with evidence of practical skills and competence. Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals is also required in addition to ability to supervise post-graduate students in areas of expertise.

Candidate must be registered with appropriate professional regulatory body and must have been a Lecturer II for a minimum of three years.

(iv) Lecturer II

A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree in the respective specialty and relevant doctorate degree or Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in area of specialty is mandatory for clinical disciplines in the respective field from a recognized University. Candidate must also have the ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level with evidence of practical skills and competence.

Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals will be an advantage.

This are average, as every University may pay differently

Professor CONUASS 7 (N2,485,099.00 – N3,209,140.00) per annum

Associate Professor CONUASS 6 (N2,053,124.00 – N2,684,096.00) per annum

Senior Lecturer CONUASS 5 (N1,653,415.00 – N2,348,299.00) per annum

Lecturer I CONUASS 4 (N1,122,751.00 – N1,444,535.00) per annum

Lecturer II CONUASS 3 (N897,501.00 – N1,074,314.00) per annum

Assistant Lecturer CONUASS 2 (N794,260.00 – N957,402.00) per annum
