How to Replace a Lost, Misplaced, or Damaged BECE/WASSCE Certificate
WAEC certificates are issued only once. However, if your certificate is lost, misplaced, or damaged, you can apply for an Attestation of Results. This document is just as valid as the original certificate.
Issuance of Original Certificates
- School Candidates: Certificates are sent directly to the schools where candidates sat for their exams.
- Private Candidates: Certificates are collected personally from the WAEC office in the region where the examination was taken.
Replacing a Lost Certificate (Attestation of Results)
WAEC does not issue duplicate certificates. Instead, they provide an Attestation of Results, which serves as a valid replacement.
Key points about the Attestation of Results:
- It is issued directly to individual candidates for their personal possession.
- The Attestation must be collected personally by the applicant from WAEC offices in Accra or the regions.
- You can confirm the details on the Attestation with the Council.
Requirements for Attestation of Results:
To apply for an Attestation, you will need to provide the following:
- Your full name as it appeared on the examination.
- The name, month, and year of the examination.
- Your Index Number.
- A passport photograph.
- A valid identification document.
- A fee of GH¢400.00 (this fee is subject to review by the Council).
