If the current DG’s appointment is to hold, all teachers & the union leadership must free every teacher from the FF:
1. Teacher registration numbers
2. License numbers
3. Teacher confirmation procedures
4. NTC-paid workshops
With this, we will accept that teaching is not a profession & that anybody at all can get in and out.
If people without registration numbers can become DG’s, why is GES troubling teachers to acquire all these numbers? Why must we pay for workshops in the name of ‘growth’?
Very soon, Goro boys will be posted to come and head our secondary schools & subsequently basic schools. Once you’re a teacher, your intellectual abilities are always in question and politicians can’t trust you to do any good work.
