Mahama’s convoy was involved in an accident; 3 sustained injuries

JM Campaign Update

1. The John Mahama campaign team and convoy have not been involved in an accident.

2. Neither has the campaign been called off or suspended.

3. JM has just finished meeting the branch and constituency executives of Yapei Kusawgu and is on his way to Daboya. The evidence is on his SM platforms, on WoezorTV and its SM handles.

4. There was an accident involving a regional team that was traveling to the Yapei constituency, ahead of the JM campaign team convoy.

5. John Mahama stopped to assist the accident victims, who have been transported to the hospital for treatment.

6. We are unable to confirm the identities of those who were injured.

But earlier information that got to us,

The victims include a TV3 Journalist, Christopher Amoako.

It is not clear yet how the accident occurred

They are said to have sustained varied injuries following the accident which happened at Dartotili, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region on Thursday.

The two other victims are the Savannah Regional Communications officer of the National Democratic Congress, R.A. Jelil, and one other person only identified as Samed.

The team was returning from East and North-East Gonja Districts and heading towards Yapei and Daoboya in the Central and North Gonja Districts, but could not reach their destination.

The injured have since been conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital For medical attention.

The former President was pictured attending to one of the victims who was lying on the floor.

He seems to be doing well.

The team is trying to finish up with the campaign tour for the 13th May Elections.
