Safety Program Coordinator

The U. S. Mission in Accra, Ghana is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Safety Inspector Coordinator.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Minimum three (3) years of experience in the maintenance or construction field performing repair work or in the field of occupational safety, to include work experience as a construction supervisor or quality control assurance inspector with experience in managing people and resources.

Education Requirements:

Mandatory:

Minimum two years Post-Secondary studies at the College/University level or Vocational/Trades School training in facilities management, environmental safety, construction, engineering, or architecture is required.
Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Mandatory:

English – Level IV (Fluent) reading/writing/speaking is required.

TWI/GA – Level IV (Fluent) reading/writing/speaking is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES Optional:

Standard level keyboard and computer skills to include specialized software, database management, spreadsheets, etc.

Must possess excellent written and oral skills in order to conduct training and drafting of materials and reports in the performance of duties.

Ability to coordinate, prioritize and oversee multiple projects. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to be flexible, resourceful, service-oriented, and self-motivated, and to work within the existing mission structure.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years of law enforcement, military, customs, private security, or other host nation security service experience is required.

Must have broad expertise in criminal/security/administrative investigations and/or security/military operations.

You Must also have acquired continuous follow-on security, military/law enforcement/customs/security training at an established host nation government training institution, to include but not limited to, training in criminal/security investigation.

Education Requirements:

Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Law Enforcement, Military Science, Criminology or Law is required
Evaluations:

 

LANGUAGE: Mandatory: Fluent English (Speaking, Reading and Writing) is required. Good working knowledge in French (Speaking, Reading and writing is required) Language proficiency may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be capable of making sound, mission critical, direct, independent decisions directly affecting personnel and resources. With proper guidance, must be capable of making appropriate decisions with host country security counterparts in liaison situations involving the evolving security situation, security operations, investigative issues, and other subjects.

This position will require the incumbent to be involved with all Department of Defense (DoD) VIP/ship visits to Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Cote d’Ivoire; therefore, frequent travel is anticipated.

Must be able to use Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook and other computer-based applications.

You Must be able to handle heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds) on a regular basis and must possess a valid local and/or international driver’s license is required. (Computer and driving skills may be tested)

West Africa Regional Marketing Specialist

Qualifications and Evaluations

 

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of work experience in basic accounting, auditing, cashiering, management or administration in an international organization, NGO, government agency or private enterprise is required. .

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have general knowledge of basic accounting procedures and management, as well as Ghanaian financial rules and regulations which pertain to Embassy business.

Education Requirements:

Completion of Post Secondary Education in Accounting, Business, Administration, Management, Audit, Finance or Professional level I ACCA/ICA/CIMA is required.
Evaluations:

 

LANGUAGE: Fluent English language (reading, speaking and writing) is required. Good working knowledge of at least one Ghanaian language is required. (Language proficiency will be tested)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have an attention to detail and the ability to analyze multiple accounts affected by various transactions and accounting documents and ability to detect errors and over obligations.

Must be able to follow instructions and USG guidelines and interact with CFSC database. Must possess the ability to work in a team that includes the Management Officer, Financial Specialist, General Services Officer, Budget Analyst, Cashier and Accounting Technicians.

You Must have the ability to operate MicroSoft Office suite for the processing of data.

Must be able to lift up to 1,500 grams of vouchers that are packaged for storage. Good communication skills is required to explain financial information and their implications related to vouchering. Computer Skills will be tested.
