The 2022 GTLE II was meant for re-sit candidates and those who completed their education program in 2021 or before due to the GTLE reforms which will be implemented this year 2023, the council has given three chances to candidate who are associated with the traditional GTLE II; numeracy, literacy and essential professional skills to redeem themselves in the 2022 GTLE II.
This is one of the three chances the two others will be conducted this year 2023. After the three chances there will be no examination for the traditional subjects in 2024 and beyond any candidates of the traditional GTLE who would like to write GTLE again would have to start afresh with a new GTLE dispensation in 2024 and beyond .
A total of 14, 442 candidates registered and sat for the 2022 GTLE II in either one, two or all the three subjects; numeracy literacy and essential professional skills.
Out of the total number of candidates 7,743 where fresh candidates who sat for the exam for the first time while 6, 699 were re-sit candidates.
Preparations are far advanced to implements the anticipated reforms which include subject-based SBT and computer-based test CBT as part of the processes leading to the implementation of the reforms, the council has developed content areas and a table of specification for 65 subjects the reformed GTLE is scheduled to be written in April 2023 and will be taken mainly by candidates train under the national teacher education curriculum framework NTECF.
