NTC Registration and Licensing of In-Service Teachers

Here is an NTC Letter to GES, all affected should act Accordingly.

Registration and Licensing of In-service Teachers who obtained their Professional certificates after 30th September, 2018.

Reference to our letter dated July, 2022 on the above subject in  which we indicated that all teachers who were employed as non-Professional but had their professional certificate after 30th September 2018 have been exempted by the National Teaching Council (NTC) Board from writing the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

The council brings to your attention the following amendments to the earlier communication.

Thus, the exemption covers;

1 . Only staff of the Ghana Education service and Ghana TVET Services.

2. All teachers who were employed before 31st December,2018 and are able to secure a professional teaching certificate from a recognized  institution on or  before 2024.

3. All first degree and diploma certificate holders without certificate in education who are employed but acquire their professional certificate on or before 31st December 2024.

Persons in this category should have been practicing as unqualified Teachers before 2018.

Such teachers must upload their professional certificates, appointment letters and passport sized photograph ( White Background ) on the Teacher Portal Ghana  and pay the exemption fee of  one Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHS 150) before 30th March 2023.

It is further announced that this special dispensation expires on the 31st December, 2024.
