Outcome of an Emergency meeting Between Unions and MoERL and Update on strike
Teacher Unions declared strike on 4th November, 2022 to register their displeasure on the appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah as the Director General of Ghana Education Service. Teachers on Strike today Friday 4th November 2022
Information reaching seekersnewsgh suggest the following as the outcome of the meeting called by the Ministry of Employment and Labour relations Industrial Strike by Teacher Unions Invitation
Meeting held at the MoELR, The meeting started at 10:50pm with GNAT, NAGRAT, CCT Gh present.
Min. of Employment and Labour Relations, represented by the Deputy and Directors.
Deputy Minister of Education, the Chief Director and others present.
The Min. of Employment opened the meeting.
Unions laid bare their demands.
1. Dr. Nkansah should go
2. Anthony Boateng should go
3. Ready to match up with the spokespersons of the Min. of Education on their utterances.
They again made known the other issues of concern such as;
*Promotions
*Upgrading
*Vehicle Maintenance allowance
*Responsibility allowance
etc.
* The Deputy Minister for Education, Rev. Ntim Fordjour apologized on behalf of the spokespersons of the Ministry concerning their utterances.
*He then pleaded the unions calls off the strike and allow Dr. Nkansah and Boateng to be there so next time they do the right thing.
The Unions then asked for adjournment of the meeting to deliberate on their plea with their constituents.
Meeting will be reconvened on Monday, 7th November 2022 at 2:00pm.
