POLICY TO ENROL QUALIFIED CHILDREN INTO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (SHS)

A letter sighted by seekersnewsgh indicates the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service are pushing efforts to make all qualified children whom for some reason did not show up to their Senior High Schools do so.

In a letter, the SISOs are to have a community engagement to locate and bring all qualified students to school.

This started when the Minister of Education saw most placed Senior High Students did to show up after placement and hence cautioned Heads,

Heads of second Cycle Institutions across the country have been cautioned to desist from preventing first-year students from enrolling because some items on their prospectus had not been procured.

The Minister for Education, Dr, Yaw Osei Adutwum made the call over the weekend when he addressed the members of the Conference of Assisted Senior High Schools (CHASS) and Principals of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Kumasi.

POLICY TO ENROL QUALIFIED CHILDREN INTO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (SHS)

The Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ghana Education Service (GES) wish to enforce the policy that all children who qualify to enter the Senior High School enroll.

Efforts are being made to locate and encourage them to enroll at the Senior High Schools.

School Improvement Support Officers  (SISOs) are therefore directed to visit their respective communities and engage parents and opinion leaders to collaborate with them to partner with this enrolment drive.

Regional Directors of Education are therefore requested to inform their respective Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to give the School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) their maximum cooperation in this very important national exercise.

Currently, in Single Track Schools, the SHS students are still in school and those in the other track are on vacation.
