Reason for the Official Release ( reaffirmation ) of BECE Date by GES

The Ghana Education Service has earlier released a statement to confirm the Academic Calendar for  Schools and to assure Teachers, students, and parents  it has not changed the Academic calendar just a confirmation of the Date for the BECE

On Thursday, February 5th, 2024, the Ghana Education Service released a new letter to schools reassuring them of the date for BECE.

This became necessary as most Heads of Schools did not receive any official communique for writing the BECE in July and hence still went ahead to prepare the Calendar for April.

This turns into a serious argument in some schools between teachers and Some Heads, as the Heads only rely on Official Letters or directives from Regional/ Metro/ District  Directors or SISOs’ Advice.

The letter was signed by Mr. Prince Charles Agyemang-Duah Ag. Director, Schools, and Instructions Divisions for the Director General of the Ghana Education Service Reads

By this letter, Regional Directors of Education are required to communicate this information to metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to inform all Heads of Basic Schools to take note and prepare the candidates for the examination accordingly.
