The body of the deceased was discovered at Sewuah New Site around 5:20pm Friday evening.
“Twenty-five-year-old Emmanuel Boateng, a tailor apprentice has been arrested and assisting police investigation,” ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO told William Evans-Nkum.
It was a gloomy atmosphere at the deceased’s family house on Sunday afternoon.
“My son was killed because of his phone,” a sobing father Yaw Adugyamfi told Media General‘s William Evans-Nkum.
He is said to have pursued a friend for him to pay a debt, but in order to avoid paying, the friend is said to have lured the student into a bush and killed him.
The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Kwaku Adu Gyamfi.
The suspect allegedly lured the deceased to a bush near Sewua where he was said to have clubbed him to death and stole his mobile phone (iPhone 11 pro max).
