UCC 30th September 2022; Press Release on Death of a UCC Student

University of Cape Coast (UCC) has just released a press on a social media circulation of Death of a UCC Student.

The University confirms the claims are false and are just ways to create fear and Panic or to tarnish the image of the University.

According to UCC, there are some few robbery cases in communities where Students resides, but the Security on campus is Tight and such story is false.

According to the Story on the allege death of the UCC Student, the robbers knocked on the door of the student and as the student came to open the door, was stubbed to death with the robbers making away with some valuables including the students’ laptop.

Death of UCC Student

Cape Coast September 30th, 2022. The attention of management of the University of cape coast has been drawn to the content of a fake story circulating on social media regarding insecurity on campus as a result of the death of a student.

The university  wishes to assure our cherished stakeholders as follows

Notwithstanding the fact that few robbery incidents occurred weeks earlier in some communities students resides, there is no iota of truth in the rumor’s circulating that a student has died on campus. The claim of insecurity should therefore be disregarded.

Management by this notice is imploring students and the general public to avoid giving credence to the false publications circulating on social media as they feed into creating unnecessary fear and panic that only benefit faceless individuals seeking to tarnish the image of the university.

The university wishes to assure the university community and stakeholders that the situation on campus is calm and that academic and administrative activities are going on smoothly without hitches.

The general Pubic is further assured that the university, in collaboration with the Ghana police Service, has increased security presence on campus and within the surrounding community through patrols.
