World Bank Pays Courtesy Call on Education Minister

A delegation from the World Bank, led by Country Director Rob Talierco, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu.

The team congratulated the Minister on his appointment and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Ghana’s education sector.

Discussions focused on ongoing World Bank-funded projects and areas for enhanced collaboration, including policy consultations, infrastructural development, and capacity building.

Hon. Iddrisu emphasized the need for Ghana’s education system to align with emerging global trends and requested support for the inculcation of ICT in schools to enhance digital learning. He also called for the retooling of TVET institutions to meet international standards and equip students with relevant technical skills.

The World Bank team welcomed these proposals and pledged to explore ways to support the Ministry’s vision for a modern, responsive education system.
