Kakum National Park : Fees and Information

 

Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. All tours are guided.

Important Notes:

  • Wear sneakers or boots for all tours.
  • Students must present valid student IDs to receive student rates.
  • Special arrangements are required for early or late entry.
  • A mandatory Entry/Utility Fee of GHS 5.00 per person grants access to the visitor center and exhibition hall.

1. Canopy Walkway

  • The Kakum Canopy Walkway is a unique feature in Africa, offering a walk among the forest canopy.
  • It is approximately 330 meters (1,080 ft) long, reaches heights of up to 40 meters (130 ft), and includes 7 bridges.
  • The walkway is constructed with wire rope, aluminum ladders, and wooden planks, secured with netting for safety.
  • An additional viewing platform allows visitors to experience the canopy without walking the bridges.
  • Visitors should be prepared for the experience, as some may find it daunting.

4. Camping and Treehouse

  • The park features a Treehouse located approximately 20 meters above the forest floor in the secondary forest.
  • The Treehouse can accommodate about 25 people, offering a unique overnight experience to observe nocturnal wildlife.
  • Trained tour guides are available for night hikes and to share folklore around a bonfire.

Other Fees:

  • Commercial Photography: GHS 400
  • Commercial Videography: GHS 1,000
  • Recreational Park Events: GHS 500.00
  • Conference Room: GHS 300

Location: Kakum National Park is situated in the coastal environs of the Central Region of Ghana, covering an area of 375 square kilometers (145 sq mi).
