1st November Holy Day

The Catholic Education Unit of Ghana, in a letter dated October 25, 2023, addressed to all Regional Managers, announced the observance of All Saints Day on November 1, 2023.

This day is an age-old practice in the Catholic Church and is considered a HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION, which must be observed by all Catholic schools in Ghana. The observance includes the celebration of Holy Mass on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, and is considered a Catholic holiday.

The letter is signed by Araba Ahima Bentum, the General Manager/Director of the Catholic Education Unit. It was sent to various recipients, including Principals of Catholic Colleges of Education, Local Managers, Heads of Catholic Senior High Schools/Senior High Technical Schools, Heads of Catholic Basic Schools, and Education Committee Chairpersons.

 

I would like to inform all Catholic Schools and in Ghana, to observe the solemnity of ALL
SAINTS DAY on Wednesday 1 November, 2023.

As an age-old practice of the Church, 1s November of every year is marked as All
Saints Day which is a HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION AND MUST BE OBSERVED AS SUCH.

In this light, all Catholic schools in Ghana must observe Wednesday, 1″ November, 2023 as a
Catholic Holiday after celebration of Holy Mass.
