Police Arrest two Persons in relation to BECE Malpractice

Police Arrest two Teachers in relation to BECE Malpractice, Albert Adu-Gyan and Yaw Adadai, were apprehended at Dunkwa Secondary Technical Centre in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality on Monday, August 7th, 2023, for engaging in examination malpractices.

The suspects, who are tutors at PEEBLE Calvary and Oxford Santech schools respectively, were caught attempting to smuggle solved examination questions into the examination hall for candidates taking the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The arrest was carried out by the police, who were tipped off about the illegal activity. The authorities promptly intervened and caught the suspects red-handed with the incriminating evidence.

Items Confiscated

Among the items confiscated from the perpetrators were two mobile phones, which were suspected to be used for communication related to the cheating scheme, as well as two separate papers containing the solved examination questions.

Following their arrest, both Adu-Gyan and Adadai were taken into custody to await further legal proceedings. They will be presented before the court to face charges for their involvement in the examination malpractices. The authorities are determined to carry out a thorough investigation to determine the extent of their illegal activities and any potential involvement of other parties.
