Forbidden- Boy Impregnates Own Mother with Love Charm – 10 Vital Steps to Safeguard Your Child” 19-year-old Ekanem shocked his community with an unthinkable act – impregnating his own mother. The distressing incident came to light when DSP Celestine Kalu, the Public Relations Officer of the Port Harcourt River State Police Command, shared the details of the crime.

According to the police, Ekanem had long harbored a strong sexual desire for women. In an attempt to fulfill his lustful urges, he sought out a love charm known as “For girls.” His intent was to test the charm on his mother and his school matron.

One day, Ekanem returned home from school, ready to experiment with the charm on his unsuspecting mother, who was alone at the time. However, he doubted its effectiveness and considered it merely a trial.

With his father working as a security guard in another state for several months, Ekanem took advantage of his mother’s vulnerability. Following the instructions given by his spiritualist or herbalist, he entered her room and, to his surprise, his mother instantly succumbed to him under the influence of the charm.

Three months later, when his mother discovered she was pregnant, she informed her husband, who denied any involvement due to his absence during that period.

As tensions rose, the mother realized that someone familiar to her son had been entering her room.

Confronting her son, she was met with threats of violence if she told anyone. Fearing for her safety, she reported the case to the police, leading to the arrest of Ekanem.

He confessed to being responsible for the pregnancy and pleaded for forgiveness, but the irreversible damage had already been done.

How to protect children from such barbaric act

Protecting children from such barbaric acts requires a multi-faceted approach involving both parents and communities. Here are some steps that can be taken to safeguard children:

1. Education and Awareness: Parents, schools, and communities should educate children about appropriate boundaries, consent, and healthy relationships. This can be done through comprehensive sex education programs and open discussions about sexuality.

2. Communication and Trust: Create an environment where children feel comfortable talking about their experiences and concerns. Establish open lines of communication, and encourage children to share any unusual or uncomfortable situations they encounter.

3. Supervision and Monitoring: Parents and caregivers should stay involved in their children’s lives, monitor their activities both online and offline, and be aware of the people they interact with. Regularly check in with children, and be vigilant for any signs of abuse or exploitation.

4. Empowerment and Self-Defense: Teach children about personal boundaries, self-respect, and self-defense mechanisms. Empower them to say no and seek help if they ever feel uncomfortable or threatened.

5. Reporting and Intervention: Encourage children to report any incidents or suspicions of abuse to a trusted adult, such as a parent, teacher, or counselor. Act promptly on reports and involve appropriate authorities, such as child protective services or the police, to investigate and intervene.

6. Support and Counseling: Provide support services, such as counseling or therapy, for children who have experienced trauma or abuse. It is crucial to offer them a safe space to express their emotions and heal from the ordeal.

7. Strengthening Laws and Policies: Advocate for stringent laws and policies that protect children from abuse and exploitation. Support organizations working to combat child abuse and push for justice and accountability for perpetrators.

8. Community Engagement: Encourage community involvement and awareness through workshops, seminars, and campaigns focused on child protection. Engage parents, teachers, religious leaders, and community members in discussions on child safety and prevention.

9. Online Safety Measures: Teach children about online safety, including the importance of privacy settings, not sharing personal information with strangers, and reporting any inappropriate or harmful content. Monitor their internet usage and utilize parental control tools to ensure their online safety.

10. Break the Silence: Create a culture of open dialogue and destigmatization around these issues. Encourage survivors to share their stories, raise awareness on the prevalence of such acts, and promote empathy and support for victims.

By taking these proactive measures, we can work towards creating a safer environment for children and protect them from barbaric acts such as this.
