The NDC members in the Ejisu Constituency, together with their Executive were joined by the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Hon Augustus Andrews Nana Kwasi, who visited and mourned with the family of the late Hon. Dr. John Ampontua Kumah, the former Deputy Finance Minister, at his residence at Donaso in the Ejisu Constituency.

The Regional Chairman conveyed the NDC Party’s condolences to the family and wished the Almighty God to grant the departed a peaceful rest.

The family’s spokesperson narrated the events which led to the final breath of the late member. He said the Fmr Deputy Minister returned to Ejisu to join his constituents in the celebration of Independence Day. However, his health deteriorated and immediately his entourage with the medical team attempted to rush him back to Accra. Unfortunately, he gave up the ghost at Suhum Government Hospital as they were trying to reach the country’s capital for proper treatment.

Reacting to the official confirmation of the demise of the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Hon. Dr. John Kumah by the family’s spokesperson, the Regional Chairman said he was shocked to hear the untimely departure of his good friend and brother. He said the news broke to him when the party was holding a National Executive meeting to decide on H.E John Mahama’s running mate nominees This caused the members to halt their meeting and observe a minute silence in honor of the departed politician.

He further asked the family to as soon as practicable, communicate to the party the funeral arrangements for the late Dr. Kumah.
