Teachers Loan to Jakpa, NAGRAT Aggressive – Ready to fall on Guarantors’

In a recent turn of events, the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) is facing an unfortunate and pressing issue that has the potential to impact both the organization and its guarantors. The NAGRAT Fund Loan, intended to support its members’ financial needs, is beginning to show signs of strain, as a significant number of loan beneficiaries have started to disappear from the repayment list.

This unsettling revelation comes as a result of previous investigations that unveiled a concerning trend – a considerable number of individuals who received NAGRAT Loans have left the shores of Ghana in search of greener pastures abroad. To make matters worse, it has come to light that some guarantors have willingly vouched for their colleagues, even though they were fully aware that these colleagues had plans to travel outside Ghana.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the NAGRAT National Officers have taken swift measures to safeguard the NAGRAT Funds and to identify those who might be taking undue advantage of the fund. It is clear that action is imperative to maintain the financial integrity of the association.

In light of these challenges, NAGRAT is issuing a cautionary note to all guarantors, urging them to exercise utmost discretion when vouching for someone seeking a loan. Guarantors need to be aware that, in case of a default, the union might have no other option but to demand repayment from the guarantor.

This development serves as a wake-up call to the NAGRAT community to be vigilant and protect the hard-earned funds that support its members. The organization’s President, Eric A. Carbonu, emphasized the need for collective diligence in preserving the association’s financial stability. The situation at hand warrants swift and practical action to ensure that the NAGRAT Fund continues to serve its intended purpose effectively.

As NAGRAT confronts these unexpected challenges, the responsibility of securing the fund and protecting its members’ interests falls on all shoulders. In the face of this unfortunate situation, the unity and vigilance of the NAGRAT community will be crucial in safeguarding their financial future.
