The message in question suggests that teachers who fail to register for the Annual School Census will not receive their salary from January 2024. We want to emphasize that not completing the registration on the EMIS Portal does not automatically result in the loss of January’s salary. It is crucial to dismiss any misconceptions and share this information with your fellow teachers to avoid unnecessary concerns.


The Message Reads

”Good morning Headteachers. Pls for your information, Teachers who fail to register for the Annual School Census will not receive a salary from January 2024. Pls kindly inform any teacher in your school who did not register to do it now to avoid further consequences.

Also, some headteachers think once they have registered the school they are not going to register again. Pls, this is force information. All Headteachers are to register for themselves after registering at the school. Thanks”

Registration Process:

For clarity, while it is essential to register your school on the EMIS Portal, individual teachers must also register themselves after completing the school registration. This step is mandatory, and all Headteachers are urged to ensure that both school and personal registrations are completed.

To authenticate messages from the Ghana Education Service (GES), please pay attention to the Message Serial Number, Reference number, and Signature.

Disregard any message circulated without a letterhead. Moreover, be cautious when receiving messages through unofficial channels, such as direct circulation without an official letterhead. Valid messages will typically come from the Head or Secretary on the school’s official page.

Official Sources of GES Information:

To stay informed, rely on official sources such as the Ghana Education Service Official Facebook Handles, the GES X  account (formerly Twitter), and letters from Heads and Directors with visible and recognized signatures.

Additionally, information shared by Heads of Schools on official school pages is considered reliable.

While registering on the EMIS Portal is essential, misinformation about the January 2024 salary should be disregarded.
