Majority Leader Denounces False Allegations in Recent Leaked Audio Clip Asks President to Disregard the Audio

In a recent press release, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Member of Parliament for Suame, Majority Leader, and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, vehemently denied allegations made against him and other individuals in an audio clip aired on Sompa FM, Suame-Kumasi, on September 8, 2023. The audio clip contained spurious claims, including accusations against the General-Secretary, Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, and former General-Secretary, Mr. John Buadu, along with a puzzling reference to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

PRESS RELEASE

”The attention of I, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, MP, Suame, Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs has been drawn to an audio clip that was aired yesterday, Friday, September 8, 2023 at Sompa FM, Suame Kumasi in which spurious allegations have been made against some individuals including the General-Seçretary,
Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, and, rather confusingly, Mr John Buadu, former General- Secretary, as if the two are the same, and, above all, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

I respond as follows:

1) That I have not been involved in any interview, discussion or conversation in which the statements contained in the clip have been made by me;

2) That I have not been involved in any plot or orchestration to impose the Vice President, HE Alhąji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on the NPP;

3) That any rudimentary analysis of the audio clip would reveal that the voice contained
in the clip, and which a commentator in the same clip is attributing to me is NOT my voice;

4) That the audio clip is a rather infantile attempt to not only bring my reputation into disrepute, but sow seeds of discord in the NPP.

5) Accordingly, I entreat the President, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Vice- President, HE Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the General-Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the former General-Secretary, John Buadu, and all NPP faithfuls to treat the said audio clip and its contents with the contempt that it deserves and consign it to the garbage can where it properly belongs.

6) In the meantime, I demand a retraction and an apology within forty eight (48) hours from Sompa FM failing which I reserve the right to advise myself”.

Signed.. OSEI KYEI-MENSAH-BONSU
