Teachers in most countries are not paid well as compared to the work they do and the sacrifice they put in their work but for some, the salary might be bad but conditions of service is excellent.
In Ghana Teachers don’t earn much, majority have to borrow to survive the month. The President Nana Akuffo Addo said Teachers all over the world are paid less and hence can’t be millionaires from Teaching, rather can do side business to.
This country is not like others where, you are paid on hourly basis, one person goes to work even if he/she has nothing to do, have to sit until the day ends, Making it difficult for others too to work.
Teachers goes to school from 6:00 am and close around 3:30pm to 5:00pm leaving them limited time to do anything attach.
Other workers are paid for all these hours and extra work done, but teachers’ preparation of Test Items, research, Education, Lab activities and other important sacrifices are not paid for. Some are just written down to be paid but are just on paper.
