SUMMONS TO APPEAR BEFORE THE COMMISSION

RE: PETITION: UNFAIR LABOUR PRACTICE BY THREE LABOUR UNIONS (GNAT, NAGRAT AND CCT, GH) CONTRARY TO SECTION 127 (3) OF LABOUR ACT, 2003 )

We refer to a petition dated 20th March, 2024 filed by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) on the above-mentioned matter and copied among others.

Order to Call Off Strike

In the petition under reference, the FWSC has complained that three Teacher Unions namely; Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and Coalition of Concerned Teachers, Ghana (CCT, GH) have declared an indefinite nationwide strike due to an allegation of a delay in the
negotiation of their Conditions of Service as well as the freeze of salaries of some of their members by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

In view of this, the National Labour Commission, in exercise of its powers under section 139 of the Labour Act, (2003). Act 651, writes to summon the parties to appear before the Commission on Tuesday, 26th March, 2024 at 10:00 am for a hearing of the issues in dispute.
