Results of NPP Super Delegate Conference 2023 Tie breaker

Here is a Press Release from the Office of HON. ALAN KYEREMATEN

In a public statement issued on Sunday, August 27, 2023, I addressed the matter concerning the selection and shortlisting of Presidential Aspirants by the Special Electoral College, convened by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on August 26, 2023.

Upon a thorough examination of the results and a comprehensive review of the events leading up to, during, and following the elections, it is abundantly clear to me that the Special Delegates Conference displayed a strategic bias in favor of a particular Aspirant. This conclusion is further substantiated by pronouncements made by prominent members of our Party both prior to and following the elections.

What is particularly disheartening is the unprecedented level of intimidation, both direct and indirect, experienced by a significant number of Delegates at various Voting Centers across all sixteen regions. Additionally, the incident in the North East region involving my Polling Agent, who suffered severe eye damage while bravely upholding the rules and regulations approved by the Presidential Elections Committee, will forever stain the history of our internal Party elections. Furthermore, the reported acts of violence and collusion in other Voting Centers are deeply appalling, unconscionable, and deplorable.

My unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of those working alongside me compels me to take a stand. I will always advocate for their interests.

I find myself pondering how our Party arrived at this point and how far we are willing to tread on this perilous path of self-destruction. Unfortunately, I remain unconvinced that the issues I’ve highlighted will not persist or even escalate in the upcoming round of elections scheduled for Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

In light of the circumstances outlined above, I am announcing my honorable withdrawal from the process leading to the Presidential Primaries scheduled for November 4, 2023. In the coming weeks, following consultations with my family, well-wishers, various stakeholders, and interest groups, I will announce my role in Ghanaian politics.

I extend my best wishes to all other Aspirants as they continue their journey. I also wish to take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude once again to my family, the Alan 4 President (A4P) Campaign Team, and all my dedicated supporters in Ghana and around the world. Rest assured, the battle is in the Lord’s hands, and those who trust in Him will find renewed strength.

May God bless our beloved homeland, Ghana, and may He continue to make our nation great and strong.

Signed,
HON. ALAN KYEREMATEN
