GES Press Release today on Alleged Assault at Nkwatia Presby SHS
Accra, 28th August, 2023 — The Ghana Education Service (GES) has responded swiftly to a distressing incident involving an alleged assault on a student at Nkwatia Presby Senior High School. The incident, which came to light through a disturbing video, reportedly involves the Assistant Headmaster (Academics) of the school.
In an official press release, the GES expressed unequivocal condemnation for the actions of the Assistant Headmaster, who is entrusted with maintaining a safe educational environment for both students and teachers. The Eastern Regional Director of Education is collaborating with school authorities and relevant law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter.
As a consequence of the incident, the Assistant Headmaster has been relieved of his duties. The student affected by the alleged assault is currently receiving medical attention and counseling. The attention of Management of Ghana EduUcation Service (GES) has been drawn toa disturbing picture of a student of Nkwatia Prestby SHS assaulted by the Assistant Headmaster (Academics) of the school.
The GES unequivocally condemns the actions of the Assistant Headmaster. who is supposed to ensure that students and teachers operate in a safe school environment.
The Eastern Regional Director of Education is liaising with the school authorities and the relevant law enforcement agency to investigate the matter. Meanwhile, the Assistant Headmaster has been relieved of his dufies, and the student is receiving medical care and counseling.
