In an official communication dated January 17, 2024, the GES has instructed all heads of schools (Basic and Second Cycle) to accept both handwritten and electronically prepared lesson notes in both printed and email forms.

This directive aims to resolve the existing misunderstandings and promote flexibility in lesson note submission.

The communication, signed by Deputy Director-General Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, requests Regional Directors to inform District/Municipal/Metropolitan Directors to ensure compliance with the new guidelines.

Any time instructions are being given it will be wonderful if they are EXPLICITLY CLEAR.
In GES we implement policy and if am told exactly what I should implement why should do otherwise. Per the current instruction:1. It is clear the teachers can write which is clear but there are no lesson notes so even teachers who want to write are disadvantage.
2. If a teacher prepares the soft copy and submit does he have to print a hard copy as well? If no how do the the headteachers vert the, lesson notes or once the teacher present something that is all. If yes who pays for the printing cost?
3. Have the respective administrators been trained on how to vert the soft copy lesson notes?
4. How is the system going to make sure that the teachers prepare their own soft copy lesson notes and not just download lesson notes and just submit them without even reading through while they go to the classrooms to do their own things as is currently going.
PLEASE and PLEASE again if we really care for the future of our children then let us be careful about the kind of instructions that we give to our teachers. Thanks.
