Agreed Allowances For Teachers in the University and Technical by FWSC and Ministry of Finance
The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission has overseen the implementation of negotiated agreements between the government the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) and the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG).
These agreements were reached following negotiations on February 8, 2024.
The Minister of Finance has approved the implementation of negotiated rates, effective from January 1, 2024. Arrears associated with the period from January to March 2024 are to be paid in April 2024.
The Controller and Accountant General Department will ensure that the approved rates are applied by respective public universities.
The letter confirming this implementation is signed by the Honorable Abena Osei Asare, Deputy Minister of Finance.

Allowance
Housing Allowance:
- Rate:
- 20% of monthly basic salary
- Eligibility:
- To Academic Senior members who do not live in their own homes
Owner Occupied Allowance:
- Rate:
- 25% of monthly basic salary
- Eligibility:
- To Academic Senior members who live in their own homes
Research Allowance:

- $1600.00

Book Allowance:

Acting Allowance:
