SHS Head Interdicted Over Unauthorized Sale of Items

In a shocking development, the Headmistress of Ghana Senior High School (SHS) in Koforidua, has been interdicted following allegations of the unauthorized sale of items to first-year students.

The decision was communicated through a letter dated 7th December 2023, signed by Mrs. Ivy Asantewaa Owusu, the Regional Director of Education for the Eastern Region.

The letter explicitly addresses the unauthorized sale of specific items to Form One students who are in the process of reporting to the school. The unauthorized items and their respective prices are outlined as follows:

  1. Ceremonial Cloth – GHC 200.00
  2. Track Suits – GHC 250.00

The letter further mentions the existence of other unauthorized items, signaling a potentially broader issue within the school’s administration.

The Regional Director of Education expressed concern over these alleged activities, stressing the importance of maintaining a transparent and fair environment within educational institutions. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken swift action in response to the grave allegations by instructing the immediate interdiction of the Headmistress.

The letter states, “You are, therefore, being asked to step aside with effect from 7th December 2023 for further investigation to be conducted into the allegation.
