How to Become a Headteacher at the Basic School in GES
To Become A Headteacher at the Basic School Level, the first thing to do is to check for Advertisements by the GES for the Positions.
The Ghana Education Service will announce vacancies for headteachers. Those who are qualified will be invited to apply.
At the Basic School Level, the Minimum Qualification,
Applicants must be professional teachers who qualify to fill a headteacher position.
Requirements for this position are as follows:
The applicant must be;
A Principal Superintendent or above and must have been on the grade for three years.
Revised Professional Ranks Placement in GES and Promotion Criteria.
Be a graduate professional teacher for at least ten years.
Knowing ICT is an added advantage.
Must have satisfactory conduct and a good working history under GES.
An applicant with a master’s degree is an added advantage.
Mode of application
Interested applicants will have to submit five copies of each of the letters with a fixed passport-size photograph
Confidential report with five copies of performance appraisal from the supervising head of the applicant.
Photocopies of certificates ( academic and professional) and promotion letters.
