Double class allowance is paid by the government to Teachers who teach more than one class.
Some classes have a high number of students and adding other classes to this work is considered a double work.
The classification of the double class is teaching different Grades and preparing a different lesson plan and a different timetable for such classes.
Teaching Class A and Class 3B is considered a double class.
Double class is when you teach in two sessions that’s two different classes & teaching different subjects.
Double classes mean that a teacher supervises 10 or more additional students. “Lose his/her planning time” means that the teacher’s total planning time fell below 200 minutes for the week.
Compensation shall be calculated by rounding to the nearest 15-minute increment, the number of minutes the teacher’s total planning time fell below 200 minutes for the week.
The teacher will complete a form with a copy provided to the teacher indicating the date and circumstances of the occurrence and the teacher will sign the form.
Then, the administrator will approve and forward the form to the Board of Education Treasurer’s Office before payment is made to the teacher on the first paycheck of the following month.
Any occurrence that occurs five (5) days before that pay day will be made on the following month’s paycheck.
Payment is made monthly

For responsibility allowance,

Those eligible for the payment of responsibility allowance include degree holders teaching “A” level classes, advanced diploma holders teaching either senior or “A” level classes at a secondary school, Diploma holders teaching senior classes, and certificate holders teaching Upper basic/secondary school classes.

 

 

Responsibility Allowance is paid at the rate of 20% of the basic pay to all eligible teachers and shall be done or paid for on an annual basis meaning it’s a 12-month cycle.
