The Ghana Education Service Islamic Education Unit has Declared 3 Days Holiday for Islamic Schools.

Wednesday 28th June, 2023 has been declared a Statutory Public holiday however schools that fall under the Islamic Education Unit have added extra days. Communicate with your head before proceeding on any holiday.

The question most students will ask after Wednesday is are we going to school tomorrow?

The answer is YES. All Schools are to report on Thursday 29th June 2023. The Schools that may not reopen are the Islamic Schools that are served.

EIDUL-ADHA (2023) HOLIDAYS FOR SCHOOLS UNDER THE ISLAMIC
EDUCATION UNIT – CENTRAL REGION

I refer to the General Manager’s letter GES/IEU/GM/VOL.6/08 dated 22nd June 2023 and in
consultation with the Regional Council of Islamic Education Unit on the above subject, I write to
direct ALL Schools under the unit to observe the Eidul-Adha holidays from Wednesday 28th
June to Thursday 29th June 2023.

All Schools under the unit are to report to School on Friday 30th June 2023.

2023 EID AD-HA CELEBRATION BREAK

This is to inform you that Islamic Education Unit offices and schools in the region shall be
breaking today, Tuesday 27th June 2023. for this year’s Eid Ad-ha celebration which falls on
Wednesday, 28th June 2023, and shall continue to Friday, 30th June 2023 (3 Days, per the
Muslim tradition), Allah willing.

In view of this, our offices and schools shall resume work on Monday, 3rd July 2023, In Shaa
Allah.
