In an impactful ceremony held at the prestigious 2023 Ghana Teacher Prize event, Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Director-General of Education, took the stage to express his gratitude and appreciation to key figures and educators who have played pivotal roles in advancing education in Ghana.

Dr. Nkansah commenced his address by extending heartfelt thanks to the President for his unwavering support for initiatives like the Free Senior High School (SHS) program, the promotion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, and the introduction of new educational standards. He acknowledged the substantial investments made by the government in the education sector, recognizing its paramount significance.

The Director-General proceeded to express deep appreciation to the diligent teachers who tirelessly commit long hours to redefine the educational narrative in the nation. He underscored the need for educators to continually renew their dedication and passion, serving as inspirations to their peers and students alike.

The pinnacle of the ceremony was the momentous occasion when Dr. Eric Nkansah presented promotion letters to the distinguished winners of the 2022 Ghana Teacher Prize. The recognition and rewards were as follows:

1st Runner Up:

This exceptional educator was rewarded with a brand-new 4X4 Pick-up vehicle  last year and this year, received an automatic promotion from the position of Assistant Director I  AD I to Deputy Director DD

Fati Issifu, a consummate professional in the field of education, serves as an English Language teacher at BUIPE GIRLS’ MODEL SCHOOL in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region. She boasts an illustrious career spanning back to 2003.

2nd Runner Up:

This outstanding Teacher  was honored with a saloon car last year and, in recognition of their outstanding contributions, was promoted from Senior Superintendent II to Principal Superintendent this Year.

David Harrison Mensah, a seasoned professional educator, specializes in Basic Design and Technology. He imparts knowledge and skills at SEFWI BEKWAI SDA JHS in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District of the Western North Region. His dedication to education dates back to 1999.

The remarkable event culminated in the announcement of the theme for the 2023 Ghana Teacher Prize, scheduled for today, October 5, 2023:
