Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is an eligibility examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education for the selection of teachers for classes 1 to 8 in the state of Odisha. The examination is conducted twice every year on announced dates for which applicants can apply by submitting an application fee.

The OTET consists of two papers, Paper I and Paper II. Candidates need to appear for both papers depending on the recruitment post they are applying for. Candidates who qualify in the test are issued a certificate and are eligible to apply for the recruitment of teachers in the state.

OTET Admit Card 2023

The Admit Card for the upcoming OTET 2023 will be released on the official website of the Board of Secondary Education four weeks prior to the examination date.

Candidates need to visit the official website and provide their Registration Number or any other relevant details to access and download the Admit Card.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the OTET 2023, the candidate must have completed their graduation with at least 50% marks and should have cleared the B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) course from any recognized university. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science or Commerce with 45% marks and have passed the Odisha Examination of Teachers Education (OETE) are also eligible to apply for the Exam.

Odisha TET Exam Pattern 2023

The OTET Exam consists of two papers:

Paper I and

Paper II.

Both the papers will consist of 150 multiple choice questions.

Paper I will be for candidates who wish to become a teacher of classes 1 to 5 while Paper II is for aspirants wishing to become a teacher of classes 6 to 8.

All the questions in both the papers will carry one mark each.

The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The exam will be conducted in online mode and the questions will be from the;

Topics such as

• Child Development and Pedagogy,
• English,
• Mathematics,
• Science, and
• Social Studies.

Syllabus Candidates appearing for the OTET Exam 2023 must go through the syllabus prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education.

Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha has shared the OTET Exam Pattern 2023 for Primary & upper primary classes. The duration of the OTET Exam will be 2.5 hours for each paper.
