The online portal provides a range of resources, including information on the housing sector, case studies, guidance, and policies. It also offers online forms and guidance documents related to the regulation of Scotland’s housing sector.

The Social Landlord Portal is a secure area that social landlords can use to engage with the Scottish Housing Regulator and which we use to communicate and provide information to and request information from social landlords.

The Portal Gives information to prospective tenants about their landlords, How to file complaint against them and even know the performance of a landlord before deciding.

Landlords also have access to communicate with Authorities.

We are the independent regulator of Registered Social Landlord and local authority housing services in Scotland.  We were established on 1 April 2011 under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2010.

Our statutory objective is to safeguard and promote the interests of:

  • around 600,000 tenants who live in homes provided by social landlords
  • over 120,000 owners who received services from social landlords
  • around 40,000 people and their families who experience homelessness and seek help from local authorities
  • around 2,000 Gypsy/Travellers who can use official sites provided by social landlords.
