Volta Regional Education Directorate Gives Stern Warning to Heads of SHS over Unauthorized Collection of Fees
This should be called Mercy, Some Heads have been asked to step aside with immediate effect over the collection of unauthorized charges from parents of first-year students. Regional Education Directors do not hesitate to interdict Heads of schools.
With what we call mercy the Volta Regional Education Directorate took a different turn by issuing a stern warning again to Heads over the Collection of illegal Fees.
The Letter Reads,
Management of the Volta Regional Education Directorate has learned with grave concern that some
Heads of Second Cycle Schools are allegedly collecting unapproved fees from First-Year students
seeking admission to the schools.
We are not happy about this unfortunate development and other related unlawful activities as they
do not only contravene the Rules and Regulations of the Service but also derail the efforts of
Management aimed at ensuring that the admission process goes on smoothly.
By a copy of this letter, all Heads of Second Cycle Schools in the Region are requested to stop the
collection of Anniversary Cloth Levy and other unapproved fees that are captured on the National
Harmonized Prospectus.

Management would not hesitate to take punitive actions against any Head that fails to comply with
these directives.
