Updates on NTC Next GTLE Resit Date and GES Postings for Teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) is gearing up to post College of Education teachers in 2024, as confirmed by a reliable source. This posting is reserved for teachers who have successfully passed their Teacher Licensure Examination.

Current News About GES Recruitment, 24,000 Teachers to be Recruited in 2024

To facilitate the application process, the GES will open the recruitment portal. Prospective candidates are required to submit their National Service Certificate along with their Licensure Certificate, the basic requirement during the application period. It is imperative to note that only those who have successfully passed all subjects in the examination will be eligible for posting.

Delay

Even though the GES did not give an actual date for the recruitment, it was speculated it would happen in January 2024. On February 8th, 2024, the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) members met the Director General of Education – Dr. Eric Nkansah Seeking clarification assurance on when their members be posted.

The Director General assured them, the Posting would be done soon. TTAG has also reassured its members, to prepare their documents for Posting in the coming weeks.

In light of the recently released results, the National Teaching Council (NTC) has set a March 2024 date for the resit examination.

This examination specifically caters to degree holders who participated in the initial licensure, the first subject-based examination.

Individuals who encountered challenges and did not pass with a diploma certificate are required to pursue a top-up program to obtain a degree before attempting the New Subject-based examination.

Statistics from the 2023 Examination indicate that a total of 9,556 candidates, representing 47.4%, did not meet the required passing criteria. Despite this setback, there is still hope for those who faced challenges, as they have the opportunity to prepare and rewrite the examination.
