Confusion Over New Trend in Education: MOE and GES Must Provide Clarity
In response to the confusion surrounding a new trend in education, CCT-GH has reached out to the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ghana Education Service (GES), urging them to provide clarity on the matter. Concurrently, CCT-GH sends a goodwill message to all 2023 BECE candidates.
The Release
The Leadership and the entire members of Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (CCT Ghana) extend its best wishes to candidates sitting for the Basic Education Certificate Examination from Monday, 7 to Friday 11th of August 2023.
For the hard work of your teachers preparing you for this day and your zeal, energy and dedication you have given to your studies, success is assured. We pray for God’s guidance and protection.
We as well call on parents to give maximum support to their wards during this time
of writing the B.E.C.E.
Invigilators as well as candidates should abide by the rules and regulations of this examination as any untoward behaviour will not he countenanced by the Union.
Last kind of BECE
That notwithstanding, we are all aware that, this B.E.C.E is the last of its kind based on the old syllabus or curriculum. Thus, subsequent examinations will be based on the new curriculum (Standard Based Curriculum and the Common Core Program).
Confusion Over New Trend in Education: MOE and GES Must Provide Clarity
We therefore call on the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service to come clear on the new path and the way forward. Both teachers and parents are somehow confused of the new trend.
Resources
Lack of textbooks and other teaching and learning resources especially at the
Junior High School since the introduction of the Common Core Program is a serious threat to our educational system.
Wishing all B.E.C.E. candidates the best.
