About the Ghana Customs
The Customs Division is a paramilitary organisation which belongs to the Operational Division of GRA and forms part of the Country’s National Security architecture. The Customs Division has offices strategically located at all points of entry and exit including harbours, airports, land borders and parcel posts as well as other inland offices. Personnel of the Customs Division are identified by uniquely designed uniforms and accessories.
As a first line of defense, the Division plays a crucial role of protecting the territorial integrity of Ghana through its Preventive operations at both approved and unapproved borders. The Customs Division is charged with three-fold responsibilities which include the:
Mobilisation of revenue from imports and exports
Facilitation of legitimate trade and
Provision of public security and safety

What qualifications do you need to be a customs officer in Ghana?
Requirements for Ghana custom service
You must be a Ghanaian
Must be between 18 and 35 Years of age.
Male applicants must not be less than 1.68 metres tall while female applicants must not be less than 1.65 metres tall.
The minimum qualifications for interested applicants are SSCE/NECO/GCE/NCE/ND /HND/BSC/ Applicants applying as man (SUPERINTENDENT CADRE) and women (SUPERINTENDENT CADRE)
SSCE/NECO/GCE/ND/HND/BSC. or any relevant certificates from reputable and approved government institutions/organisations.
Applicants must be physically and mentally fit. And must not have a criminal record.
Applicants with any form disabilities should not apply.
Experience officers who want to divert into custom service also have advantage.
