CURRENT ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS FOR A POLICE RECRUIT AT POLICE TRAINING COLLEGE
a)ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
A candidate for appointment as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent must be:
A Zambian Citizen;
Between 18 and 30 years of age;
A graduate with at least a first degree obtained from a recognized university;
Not less than 1.65 metres in height for males and 1.60 metres for females;
Medically and physically fit with normal vision, with or without the aid of glasses;
Without a criminal record; and
Single and of good character.
b)CONSTABLE AND BANDSMEN
A candidate for appointment as Constable must be:
A Zambian Citizen;
Between 18 and 25 years of age;
Not less than 1.65 metres in height for males and 1.60 metres for females;
With a chest measurement of not less than 80 centimetres deflated (male candidates only);
A holder of a full Grade 12 School Certificate (with at least credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any science subject);
Without a criminal record;
Medically and physically fit;
Single, of a sound mind and good character.
NOTE: The Inspector General of Police may use discretion to accept any qualifications for someone to join as a police officer.
In general Recruitment, Special experiences may be required.
