40-year-old Teacher Arrested for Alleged Forgery

A bench warrant has been issued by the Accra Circuit Court for the apprehension of a 40-year-old Teacher accused of falsifying documents to secure a promotion.

Atta Boadi Senior, who faces charges of forging official documents and tampering with counterfeit documents, failed to make an appearance in court.

His court appearance is scheduled for September 18, 2023, before Mr. Isaac Oheneba-Kuffour.

According to Police Chief Inspector John Gohoho, Mr. Alex Dankwa works at the Ghana Education Service (GES) Headquarters, while Boadi holds the position of Senior Superintendent II and is assigned to the Subrisu District Assembly Primary School in the Eastern region.

Chief Inspector Gohoho explained that on July 31, 2023, Boadi submitted a letter he had received from GES, which stated that he had been promoted to the rank of Assistant Director II. Mr. Dankwa received the letter for processing, but upon careful examination, he determined that it was a forgery and nullified the promotion.

On August 1, 2023, Boadi visited the GES Headquarters to inquire about his promotion. When questioned about the authenticity of the letter, he fled.

However, he was subsequently apprehended, and the forged letter was confiscated and turned over to the police.

The prosecution revealed that GES had compiled a list of eligible teachers for promotion, subjected them to an examination, and those who passed were formally promoted and notified in writing. GES Promotion Results 2023 Release 69% Successful

Chief Inspector Gohoho further disclosed that upon further investigation, it was discovered that Boadi was not eligible for promotion and had not followed the proper procedures for advancement.

Following the investigation, Boadi was charged with the offenses and brought before the court.
