NTC To Visit Schools to check Compliance with the National Teaching Standard Check List and Requirements

The National Teaching Council (NTC) is set to conduct compliance checks on teachers in selected districts, as mandated by section 83 of Act 1023. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has informed that the NTC has developed guidelines and assessment tools for this purpose. Compliance officers, trained by the council, will be deployed to eighteen Metro/Municipal/Districts in the Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra, and Northern Regions. These officers will assess teachers’ compliance with the standards set for the teaching profession, which is crucial for the renewal of teachers’ licenses.

The exercise is scheduled to take place from November to December 2023. The Regional Directors of Education are requested to inform the respective Metro/Municipal/District Directors about this initiative. The letter is signed by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, the Acting Director of the Schools and Instructions Division on behalf of the Director-General. The list of selected eighteen districts includes:

  2. Sekyere South District
  3. Abuakwa South District
  4. Akyemansa District
  5. Yilo Krobo District
  6. Kwahu West District
  7. Brim Central District
  8. New Juaben North Municipal
  9. Akuapem North District
  10. Accra Metro
  11. New Juaben South Municipal
  12. Shai Osudoku District
  13. Ada East District
  14. Ablekuma North Municipal
  15. Ga North Municipal
  16. La Nkwantanang-Madina
  17. Ga South Municipal
  18. Adentan Municipal
