College Trainee Teachers Doing Better in GTLE than University Trained Teachers- Research

The Council has made a series of research work about the GTLE and Teacher’s Professionalism
According to the research findings,
It was observed that Colleges of Education trainee Teachers performed better than those from the University.
Probing, the research team observed the Colleges of Education focused more on the GTLE and integrated it into their Teachings and Examination, they also do General Education, a bit of numeracy, professional, skills, literacy, etc all these help their students to do well in the GTLE.
When it comes to why University Students don’t necessarily perform like the CoE Students,
The answers range from the fact that the universities are more focused on doing Specialization than General education, they do for example Mathematics University of Cape Coast, B.Ed. Science Education University of Cape Coast UCC. UEW-BBA( ACCOUNTING STUDIES AND HR ), Bachelor of Arts (English) University of Cape Coast, etc students only get ready to write the GTLE after level 400 when they are done with their courses.
Other reasons have to do with their number and the gap between first-class students and those with a pass, all these students whether first-class or pass are all writing the GTLE hence the results.
