Important Update: Rescheduling of Reopening Date for Form One Students

Accra, Ghana – September 1, 2023 ; In a recent development, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced a rescheduling of the reopening date for Form One students in Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools. This announcement comes as a result of certain considerations, and the new date is set to ensure a smooth start to the academic year.

Initially planned to commence on September 18, 2023, the reopening date for Form One students has been shifted to September 25, 2023. This change has been communicated to all Regional Directors of Education, who are requested to promptly disseminate this information to the respective Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools. It is crucial for parents, guardians, and students to take note of this new date and make necessary preparations accordingly.

The Ghana Education Service believes that this rescheduling will help create a conducive learning environment for Form One students, setting them on the path to a successful academic year.

SHS 2

In light of this adjustment, SHS 2 students, along with SHS 3 students, are currently attending school and actively participating in their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). SHS 2 resumed classes on August 14, 2023, following a break that started on June 2, 2023. The academic year for these students is scheduled to conclude on November 30, 2023, marking the end of their academic journey for the year.
